Ivan Vicario is an outstanding physical therapist, and I would recommend him without hesitation. I have been seeing Ivan at Evolve DPT for knee pain, tingling down my thigh, and persistent lower back pain. One of the biggest advantages of Evolve DPT is that every 45-minute session is one-on-one, and the entire session is conducted personally by Ivan, in my case, or other therapists. You are not handed off to an assistant or left to work through a routine on your own. Ivan listens carefully, evaluates how you are functioning, and tailors each session to what you need that day. He is extremely knowledgeable, thoughtful, and attentive. The results have been impressive. In about two months, my knee pain and the tingling in my thigh have been eliminated, and my lower back pain has been substantially reduced. What makes Ivan especially valuable is the combination of expertise and genuine personal care. He explains what he is doing, welcomes questions, adjusts the program as you improve, and makes you feel that your recovery really matters to him. If you are looking for a physical therapist who will give you his full attention and work with you personally to achieve meaningful results, Ivan is an excellent choice.
I booked one of my patients for a running analysis with Allie after a few months of treatment with me. She'd been able to return to running but couldn't get past a certain mileage without knee pain. The analysis with Evolve DPT was unbelievably useful — Allie knows her stuff inside and out and gave us a detailed breakdown of each potential issue, followed by strength testing to confirm it, then a clear plan of attack based on the findings. Everything was transparent and well explained; we left knowing exactly how to move forward. Evolve DPT is an incredible asset for North County runners and athletes in general. Their tech and ability to apply it is next level. As a physical therapist and athlete, I can't recommend them enough. This will change the way I practice PT.

What happens at my first visit?
A one-on-one evaluation with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We review your history and goals, test how you move and pinpoint the root cause. You’ll leave with a plan and your first home exercises. Wear clothes you can move in.
How much does physical therapy cost without insurance?
We provide flat, transparent prices on all of our services:
Physical Therapy: $300 evaluation, $150 follow-up visits, less per visit with a bundle.
Video Movement Analysis: $300 running or gait analysis, $350 sports risk analysis, or $450 and $500 with an 8-week re-assessment.
We also accept HSA and FSA and provide superbills.
Is a physical therapist a doctor?
Yes, a Doctor of Physical Therapy, not a medical doctor. It takes a bachelor’s degree, a 3-year clinical doctorate degree with clinical rotations and a licensing exam. [BLS, 2026] Every physical therapist at Evolve DPT holds one.
